Dave Gutkowski to Speak about Local Ceremonial Site. Dave will share a video he recently presented at the SPA Annual Meeting in Uniontown. An avocational archaeologist who has been researching for five years a site he first discovered in 2004 which appears to be an archaic astronomy site, ceremonial in nature and used to track the sun's passage over the course of the four seasons. This month's meeting will be held on may the 28th at 7:00 pm in the Duryea Municipal building. The meeting is open to the public and presentation is free of charge.

Jim Wosochlo will Present a Talk about the Blacksmith Site which includes prehistoric and historic elements at this months meeting. Members will remember Jim's previous talks how entertaining and informative they were.
The meeting of the Frances Dorrance Chapter will be held on April 30th at 7:00 pm at the Duryea Municipal building. As always, it is open to the public and free of charge.
Other news, the opening of the Conrail Site for 2013 excavation will be in full swing next month. We encourage volunteers to come and participate in a fun and educational experience.

Our guest speaker is Rick Bauer a flint knapper who will demonstrate his craft. The demonstration will show how the Native American stone points were manufactured.
